Alkylphenol ethoxylates are usually used as a wetting agent in textile processing. EU REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 limit nonylphenol (NP) and nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (NPEO) emissions. For many years, the NPEO been used as detergents, emulsifiers, wetting agents and dispersants; NP is used as a synthesis NPEO the media. NPEO and NP are highly toxic to aquatic life , water pollutants. They can destroy aquatic hormonal regulation system, resulting in the feminization effect. Widespread concern alkylphenol ethoxylates, octylphenol (OP) and octylphenol poly (ethylene oxide) ether ( OPEO ) .
